The 2026 AQPM synthesis, based on data from OTM Junior, presents key trends in audiovisual consumption among Canadian youth aged 2 to 17, distinguishing between francophone and anglophone markets.

The study confirms a now highly digital ecosystem, where streaming, YouTube, and social media play a central role in young people’s daily media consumption, within households that are largely subscribed to video-on-demand services.

It also highlights differences in usage depending on language, as well as the strong dominance of global platforms in content discovery and consumption. Local content remains present but operates in a highly competitive environment, where discoverability remains a key challenge.
