Black Women Film & Media : Canada (BWFM) is proud to announce the BIG UP KIDS INCUBATOR & INTERNATIONAL PRODUCER RESIDENCY! created in support by the Canadian Media Fund & Telefilm Canada.
This year's residency offers a unique opportunity for producers developing children’s and family content (live action or animation), an area where Black women are historically underrepresented.
This incredible development opportunity designed for mid-career Black women producers working in kids content creation will run from September 23, 2025 – March 1, 2026 and will take place in person at three international children's markets (OAIF, MIP Junior & Kidscreen) as well as online throughout the year.
The program includes tailored online and in-person mentorships and master classes, $5,000 development funding per participant, curated international market access (including Kidscreen Summit and MIPJunior), and extensive industry integration. All market passes, travel expenses and accommodation are covered for this program.
