Montreal, March 11, 2026 – The Youth Media Alliance (YMA) is delighted to announce that multi-talented artist Simon Boulerice will host the 2026 YMA Awards of Excellence Gala, for which he will also write the script. The highly anticipated event will take place at the Cinéma du Musée – Maxwell-Cummings Auditorium – Montreal Museum of Fine Arts on May 26, 2026, celebrating excellence in Canadian youth media.
Montreal, March 11, 2026 – The Youth Media Alliance (YMA) is delighted to announce that multi-talented artist Simon Boulerice will host the 2026 YMA Awards of Excellence Gala, for which he will also write the script. The highly anticipated event will take place at the Cinéma du Musée – Maxwell-Cummings Auditorium – Montreal Museum of Fine Arts on May 26, 2026, celebrating excellence in Canadian youth media.
A radio (Plus on est de fous, plus on lit !, Il restera toujours la culture) and television (Cette année-là, On va se le dire, Sucré salé, Bonsoir Bonsoir, Salut Bonjour) columnist, Simon Boulerice also moves seamlessly between acting, directing and writing. He writes theatre, poetry and novels for both adults and children. Among his 75 titles (with more than 275,000 copies sold), he is the author of the award-winning Simon a toujours aimé danser, Javotte, Edgar Paillettes, PIG, Florence et Léon, Le Pelleteur de nuages and L’Enfant mascara. His works, translated into ten languages, have notably been nominated for the Governor General’s Awards, the Prix des libraires and the Prix de la critique. For television, he has written for the new version of Passe-Partout and penned all the scripts for the series Six degrés and Chouchou, each earning him the Gémeaux Award for Best Writing. For the web, he created Martine à la plage (awarded at the Gémeaux and at Serielizados in Spain in 2023) as well as Géolocaliser l’amour (awarded in Banff, Baltimore, Buenos Aires and Rome). His upcoming television series M’infiltrer dans ta vie, presented in competition at Canneseries in 2025, and Je te tiens will air in 2026. In 2022, at the YMA Awards of Excellence Gala, his series Six degrés received two honours: the Excellence Award for “Engagement, Openness to the World and Respect,” as well as the Teen Choice Award (13+).
The YMA Awards of Excellence Gala will celebrate outstanding contributions to Canadian youth media and recognize excellence across numerous categories. More than 300 industry professionals are expected to attend this prestigious event.
Tickets for the gala, including the cocktail reception, the awards ceremony and the post-event celebration, will go on sale on April 26 on the YMA website.
The awards ceremony will take place at the Cinéma du Musée – Maxwell-Cummings Auditorium – Montreal Museum of Fine Arts on May 26, 2026, in Montreal.
