The Alliance pursues its mission of encouraging high-quality content by presenting annual awards of excellence to the best productions targeting young English- and French-speaking Canadians, and emerging talent by awarding scholarships.

The 2024 Steven DeNure scholarship has found a winner

The Youth Media Alliance is pleased to announce the recipient of the 2024 Steven DeNure Scholarship.

Maria Bui for an internship with Lopii Productions has been awarded the 2024 Steven DeNure Scholarship. 

Maria Is a graduate from Centennial College in Children's Media program and has expressed a real interest in working in children's TV. She is A keen creative with an enterprising drive and a passion for children's media and play-based learning. A strong team player that contributes resourcefulness and a wealth of diverse experience.

The summer intern at Lopii Productions would help the small but mighty team by wrapping up production on their current project 'Bestest Day Ever with My Best Friend' and assisting with research and development on upcoming projects. The winners of the PRIX JEUNESSE INTERNATIONAL 2024 have been announced

29th May, 2024: The winners of the PRIX JEUNESSE INTERNATIONAL 2024 were announced this evening. At the world’s oldest and largest festival for children’s and youth television programmes, over 300 international children’s television professionals came together at the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation in Munich/Germany, to view the competition programmes from all over the world, discuss quality standards and select the best productions. The coveted trophies have now been awarded at a festive gala in the Old Town Hall of Munich.

Winners of the 2024 Awards of Excellence

Montreal, May 22nd, 2024 – The Youth Media Alliance (YMA) unveiled the winners of the 2024 Awards of Excellence at a touching and hilarious gala held in Montreal at Radio-Canada. The event was hosted by Gregory Charles and scripted by Luc Michaud. The YMA celebrates the best in Canadian media production for children and youth.

This year's celebration of the children's content production industry was a special one. It kicked off with a cocktail party held simultaneously in Toronto at CORUS (hosted by Joe Motiki and scripted by Daniel Fernandes) and in Montreal at Radio-Canada to celebrate the YMA’s 50th anniversary and pay tribute to the key people who have contributed to the advancement of the YMA and children's content over the years. The gala followed in Montreal with the distribution of awards only. The ten (10) honorees and fifteen (15) awards were announced.
